2009 Scholarship Golf Tournament Results: The Fifth Annual Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament was won with a low score that was 10 under par.  The winning team included Roger Bird, Sam Snider, Steve Maddocks, and Floyd Kinsman.  Second place went to Tom Ritley's team that included Tom, Jim Civilla, Kelly Campos, and Frank Spargo.  Third place was won by the Eliason team that included Ron K., Ron J., and John Eliason, and Duane Wilcox.  Prizes were also awarded for men's and women's Longest Drives and Closest to the pin.

The tournament, a team scramble using a shotgun start, was held September 12 at the Gold Mountain Cascade Golf Course and had a great turnout with 55 golfers during spectacular weather.  Many thanks to the golf course staff for helping us hold a terrific event again.

Lou Lawrence (class of 1962), with the help of Roger Bird(1960), founded this annual event to raise funds for scholarships for graduating seniors in the North Kitsap School District.  Over five years, 41 scholarships have been awarded to graduates with excellent academic records and who did not receive other substantial awards.  Each scholarship is worth $2,000 ($500 for each of four consecutive years).

Now is the time to note on next year's calendar that the next tournament is scheduled for early September, 2010.  Watch this web site for further details in the Spring.
