NKSF Programs
The following programs are administered by the NKSF:
Full Day Kindergarten Scholarships
North Kitsap School District funds half day kindergarten programs, but provides full day programs where parents are able to pay for the additional half day. NK Education Foundation supports scholarship donations from the community to assist parents who would like their children to attend a full day program, but cannot afford the entire expense. Following the successful presentation in January 2007 at Kingston Junior High of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) program called Parents and Teachers as Allies - Recognizing Early-Onset Mental Illness in Children and Adolescents, the Foundation established the Mental Illness Awareness Education Fund. Donations to this fund are used to help present similar in-service training at NK schools.Other Programs
The Foundation will distribute funds through grants and scholarships, and administer grant funds from other sources.
