North Kitsap Education Foundation was incorporated in June, 2002, and received its IRS Determination letter in January, 2003.

The Foundation is a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, recognized by the IRS as a public charity which allows the maximum tax-deductibility of contributions from donors.

As a community-based organization, the Foundation is independent of the North Kitsap School District. However, programs supported will have the approval of the District, and will be consistent with the curriculum objectives and mission of the North Kitsap School District.
