2009 Scholarships Awarded: North Kitsap Schools Foundation and its partners awarded twelve scholarships to NK School District 2009 graduating seniors at awards celebrations on June 3.   The North Kitsap School District alumni group awarded scholarships to Kingston students, Megan Ramey, Lindsey Gard, Cameron Rychener, and Madaline Howell, and North Kitsap students, Tyler Simrell, Megan Stickney, Lesly Barcena, Christine Parker, Matthew Christian, and Helen Wytko.  In addition, scholarships have been renewed for another year for eight previous recipients. 2008 Mini-Grant Program:  North Kitsap Schools Foundation (NKSF) announced on November 25, 2008 the award of grants totaling $4,387 to North Kitsap School District teachers and staff. Grant amounts ranged from $150 to $540. A grant evaluation committee of NKSF Board and community members evaluated the grant applications and selected 13 from 34 applications. Mission

North Kitsap Schools Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to promote and help fund the best possible learning opportunity for all students of the North Kitsap School District.   

Goals

  • Build an endowment fund to provide a permanent source of supplemental funding
  • Award grants to staff and students
  • Honor the efforts and achievements of students, staff, and community members
  • Seek scholarship and program funds from public and private sources Promote charitable and planned giving to benefit public schools in North Kitsap

Who We Are

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees who volunteer their time and talents to accomplish the goals of the Foundation.  The Foundation is a community-based organization and is independent of North Kitsap School District.

Community Benefits

Donations to the Foundation help our community in numerous ways, including:   Enriching classroom instruction, Encouraging teacher initiative, Attracting and retaining the best possible faculty, Recognizing and rewarding efforts and achievements of North Kitsap students in academics, the arts, and co-curricular activities

There are many ways in which individuals, families, groups, or businesses may give to the North Kitsap Schools Foundation, including:   payroll deductions, annual pledges paid monthly or quarterly, memorials, matching gifts, bequests, life insurance, securities and real estate, scholarship and program funds
